World Info/Background: Once upon a time, there was a world called Earth. But it wasn't important yet, so we'll get back to it later.

Once upon ANOTHER time, there was a world called Endymion. Consisting of one giant supercontinent centered around a bustling capital city, Endymion's culture developed around its position as a "hub" world that was connected to many other dimensions and realms. Their role as a multiversal crossroads led to rapid development in magic and technology, and over time Endymion became a massive cultural center for all types of otherworldly beings and their powers.

Of course, success on a dimension-spanning level usually attracts trouble, and Endymion soon met their trouble in the forms of the "Dark Gods": a collection of chaotic beings from beyond space and time who had apparently made it their mission to rip through the layers of reality and destroy all its inhabitants. Ain't that always the way? Once the threat of these creatures became clear, the leaders of Endymion scrambled to find a hero with enough power to challenge them. They found her on another world, known to us as Earth. The hero, who came to be known as the King of Six Worlds, was able to hold back the Dark Gods for a time, but could not outright defeat them on her own. Luring them away from Endymion and back to her homeworld, she drained the magic of the planet and sealed them within Earth; sacrificing both her life as well as Earth's connection to the rest of the multiverse in the process.

(Thousands of years later, the connection would be reformed when the seal on the Dark Gods was broken. It was all very dramatic and exciting...but that is a story for another time.)

Enough about history, though. Let's talk about the only character who actually matters here. Although her world was seeped in the power of gods, Adhara herself was raised in a rural village where magic was much, much rarer, and usually seen as more trouble than it was worth. Born to a mother and father who were a little too young to be ready for a child, and especially not ready for a child with phenomenal cosmic powers, Adhara grew up in a household built on strained patience. She showed early talent with both elemental magic and divination, and there was little that her salt-of-the-earth parents could do for her as she reached puberty and her abilities continued to grow. Luckily, there was a place that eagerly welcomed such skills, and at the earliest opportunity the young girl was shipped off to Endymion's capital to train her powers.

Adhara settled in almost instantly in her new home. Boarding at a local temple and placed under the care of a high mage and professor at Endymion's famous university, she took to the bustling city like a fish to water, and set about training her powers to be as strong as she could. She gained a solid foundation under her teacher's watchful eye, and while her combat and more practical skills were never the MOST impressive, she continued to show great skill as a diviner- a rare and highly sought-after skill. She gained much attention as a prodigy of the art, and many people came to employ her abilities for various purposes. When the time came, her notability earned her a scholarship at the university, and she began attending there to continue honing her art and become a true master.

Personality: At first glance, Adhara seems to be a bubbly, outgoing young woman. And she is! Friendly and cheerful, always willing to make friends and help out, she's an extrovert and go-getter. She's motivated and driven to achieve her own goals as well as those of the people important to her, and she'll never hesitate to lend a helping hand, even at her own expense. If you're in need of assistance, Adhara will be the first person to volunteer, and she's always there for anyone that needs cheering up. She really just wants everyone to get along and for things to go well!

Partly because it's less stress if everyone's happy. But mostly because...if she makes them happy, then people will like her. And Adhara really wants people to like her.

Because the truth is that Adhara's parents didn't really want a child. They CERTAINLY didn't want a child with more magical power than they knew what to do with. She essentially grew up with the ever-present feeling of being unwanted because of what she was and what she could do. She did her best to mitigate this by teaching herself as much as she could about magic, pushing herself constantly to control it and use it in ways that would be useful to other people. This helped a little, though it could never quite fix what was, by then, an irreparably damaged relationship. By the time she moved to Endymion's capital, Adhara had internalized one lesson beyond a doubt: if she couldn't make herself useful to the people around her, she would only be a burden.

Because of this, possibly above everything else, Adhara is a people-pleaser. She likes being appreciated and seen as useful by others, and she's willing to bend over backwards or twist some things about herself to achieve that. She focuses her energy on analyzing and reading people, and will shift her behavior and attitude to present in a way that she thinks will appeal to them. In this way, her personality can sometimes seem quite inconsistent, because she's always trying to put on a different face for different people.

This pattern is increased greatly when it comes to people she actually likes and wants to be close to. For those people, she will do almost anything to be whatever they want her to be. Or, at least, what she THINKS they want her to be. While she spends most of her time flitting about being helpful and making connections, she has very few people who she would consider real "friends," so she is fiercely loyal to those that she does. She has a tendency to be highly protective and even jealous of her few precious people, and even small betrayals wound her incredibly deeply. She tries very hard to not show this, however; obviously they had their reasons, right? She must have done something wrong to deserve it, must have failed to be the person they wanted. Because for Adhara, the rule is always to put the other person first. Always.

The face that Adhara generally puts forward to the world is that of a cheerful, funny, helpful girl. Though she adjusts this image somewhat in order to suit whoever she's dealing with, the basic mask is the same. Behind it, the "real" Adhara is a much more serious, reserved person than she usually acts like. This isn't to say that she ISN'T cheerful, funny, or helpful; just that she emphasizes and plays up those particular traits most of the time in order to be perceived as someone approachable and "nice". In private, she is passionate, focused, and driven; it's rare to catch her in an idle moment. She's more likely to be found with her nose in a book or intently practicing with her spells. She is always pushing herself, trying to improve her knowledge and abilities so as not to be seen as a burden or cause trouble. Adhara at her core is a person who is sure that she has to try harder and be better than just "herself" in order to be wanted by others. She wants to be liked, she wants to be appreciated, she wants to be needed, and she has convinced herself that the only way to do this is to be skilled enough that people will need her, while also appearing as agreeable and useful as possible.

It isn't as though she becomes a completely new person every time she talks to someone; as said before, her image is "a friendly girl" and that's the base that she's working off of. If it appears that she can get farther in an interaction by being serious, she'll drop the ditziness and act more mature. If she sees that flattery will do the trick, expect her to start fawning and flirty. She isn't willing to go directly against her basic morals if it comes down to it, but if she can get the other person to THINK she agrees with them, that's fine. Pushing the limits of her comfort is necessary in order to get on people's good sides.

When she's given more time to focus on herself, though, she can be quite stubborn and overly-focused on the things that matter to her. Her studies, her duties, her hobbies; she takes them all equally seriously, and it can actually insult her to see someone not giving their best effort at something. Be prepared for endless lectures if she ever catches you shirking your homework! Aside from that, though, she can be something of a goofball; though she's almost always trying to present in a very certain way, she can find herself mindlessly flirting or snarking when she feels relaxed and safe.

Skills/Abilities: Adhara has a basic foundation of magical abilities that is typically used in her world. Her specific focus is on elemental control (mainly fire, which she has a natural affinity for), and divination, an area that is more rare to have talent in and where she is considered a prodigy. Aside from these two areas, she is generally skilled but not exceptional at everything else, very well-rounded.

On the non-magical side, she is intelligent and clever, with a skill for identifying patterns and working through a lot of information at once. She's good at acting and can bullshit her way out of trouble if she has to. Physically, she is in-shape, fit and strong, but not especially so. She has no skill with any particular weapons, but she can punch a fool in the face if it comes to that.

Magic Weapon: [Randomized] Shock and Ow: An improbably stylized whip made out of copper and leather. When its ability is activated the user can cause the whip to be electrified and shock their enemies. The power of the whip varies upon how much mana is put into the charge. With practice, the user can increase the duration of the charge.

Carrier: A flying squirrel. Shy and suspicious of everyone aside from their owner, yet incredibly mischievous. But who could stay mad at such a cute wittle face~?
